Art Mayer has many years of experience in and around the tire industry, working in a variety of roles at Dealer Tire and as a contract writer and consultant covering a wide range of non-technical topics in the tire market for Smithers and its clients. He was a speaker at Smithers’ Traction conferences in 2016 and 2018, covering the fast-emerging area of sensors and intelligent tires.
At Dealer Tire, Mr. Mayer served in a number of strategic positions supporting internal clients at in executive management, finance, marketing, program management, IT (rightturn.com concept development) and sales (including Tire Stores). Projects and initiatives included assessments of new business opportunities (parts, accessories, channels, technologies, and in countries such as China and Germany).
In his various roles, he integrates primary (e.g., interviews with tire and ancillary experts and industry observers) and secondary research (e.g, databases, trade literature, financial literature) to develop customer, market, technology, and competitive insights and forecasts for clients.
